M.A.C.U.S.A Didn’t Care Of 9/11?

Some Harry Potter fans may have wondered: if the wizards of New York didn’t acted at all during the September 11 attacks aside from making sure everyone of their kind is okay.

I understand that the M.A.C.U.S.A., or the Magical Congress of the United States of America, is fully independent of the No-Maj (Muggle) federal government and has no cooperation at all from it. The Pottermore website and the Harry Potter wiki has exhaustive history of the wizarding history in the U.S.A. that may shed light on this.

I am thinking, if the wizards didn’t care at all when the ‘Muslim’ terrorists blew up the World Trade Center towers with passenger jets, despite the complex being just a couple of blocks away (actually, less than 500 meters or a roughly quarter mile) from the Woolworth Building, the headquarters of the M.A.C.U.S.A.

If the wizards had been kinder to the No-Maj (or the other way around), more lives could be saved, or even the tower itself could had been saved. Eventually, the towers’ destruction did affected the Woolworth Building, cutting off its electricity and other vital services for weeks. I don’t know how M.A.C.U.S.A. coped with even the lack of water, or they have other magical methods to cope with it.

Or perhaps, did they cast some sort of protection around Woolworth, so it may not be damaged by any means during that fateful day.

Unlike its British counterparts, American wizardkind had a very turbulent relationship with the No-Maj. I don’t know how the history played out beyond the 1950’s and 1960’s, during the time that the African-Americans, once despised by the society, was finally accepted with open arms. But I believed that the descendant of Donald Trump, or Mr. Trump himself, is a Salemer.
