The colorful Barangay Christmas Displays of Marikina has made a comeback this year, after seven years of absence.
They used to be part of Christmas attractions in Marikina, but after the devastation of Tropical Storm Ondoy in 2009 it was scrapped.
Each Barangay competes for the best Christmas display which are placed along the Provident Villages side of the Marikina River Park, and its theme varies every year. This year, the theme is about the Philippine attractions per region.
The attraction opened last December 1. Visitors can take photos of themselves with the exhibition.
The Christmas tiangge is also back at the east bank of the River Park, near the A. Bonifacio bridge. A carnival was also set up at the opposite bank.
